Felt Pumpkin Funny Faces (15 minute Halloween craft) ~Tutorial~

Here is a great Halloween craft that you can do in 15 minutes!  And it works as both Halloween decor AND a toy!  Great for the kiddos!  My Kids love the Funny Faces magnet toys and I knew that they would love this too!

Here is what you will need:
Circle cardboard (We got ours from our Frozen Pizza)
Felt (In a verity of colors but mostly orange, green and black)
Small box
Hot Glue

1. Cut your orange felt circle a little larger then the cardboard circle.  Cut small slits around the circle (about every inch or so)
2. Hot glue the orange felt to the cardboard circle overlapping the slits.

3. Hot glue the small box to the back of the circle.  This makes it stand up and also provides a place for all the face shapes to go.
4. Cut out a steam shape from the green felt and hot glue it to the top.
5. Cut out simple shapes for the pumpkins eyes, mouth, nose, eyebrows, etc.  Keep the shapes super simple like you would see on a pumpkin face.

Test it out to make sure it works. ; )

If you really feel crazy you can add some accessories!  I added a hat, sunglasses, bow, flower and blond hair.

And when you are done all the felt pieces can go right into the box!

Pumpkin Candle Holders Tutorial!

It is time to get into the Halloween spirit!  I made these last year, but some how they did not end up on the blog... so hooray for me this year when I needed a post! :) These are great for your halloween mantel!
Here is a SUPER easy craft to get in the halloween spirit!

Here is what you will need:
Candle holders (I made mine from a candle holder and a candle stick from the dollar store)
DecoArt's Crystal Gloss Enamels
DecoArt's 3D Gloss Enamels

1. I didn't have orange paint... but I had yellow and red so I mixed them!

2. I painted the orange gloss enamels paint using a brush.  I wanted my strokes to look like the lines on the pumpkin.  Let dry.

I printed off some pumpkin faces and taped it to the inside the candle holder.  I used my 3D Gloss Enamel's black paint to trace over the face.  You can find pumpkin faces by googling "pumpkin face templates"

Let the paint dry for 48 hours and then cook at 200 degrees for 30 min. in an un-preheated oven.  Let cool with the oven door open.

Once the paint is dry you can light a candle!

Glitter Leaf Wreath

Hello! I am so excited to be a guest designer for Art Glitter for the next few months! Here is one of my designs that is posted on the Art Glitter Blog!

For my first project I am all about fall! It is time to glitter up some leaves and make a wreath! I used colors from the Art Glitters Turning Leaf Glitter Color kits...Perfect for this project!

Here is what you will need:
Silk Leaf garland (I got mine from the Dollar Store)
Foam Wreath (Also from the Dollar Store)
Wide Ribbon
Straight pins
Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive
Art Glitter: 119 Cranberry, 231 Copper Harbor, 65 Old Gold

1. Pin one end of your wide ribbon to the back side of your foam wreath. I used 2 pins to hold mine ribbon in place.

2. Wrap your wide ribbon around your wreath covering the whole surface and pin in place at the end.

3. Pull all of your silk leaves off of your garland.

4. Use Art Glitters Dries Clear Adhesive to make some detail on your leaf.

5. Spoon your glitter over the glue and shack off the excess over a bowl or piece of paper. (I used 119 Cranberry on this leaf)

I also out lined the leaf with the glue and added the glitter

I used three different color leafs with three different color glitters.
From Right to Left:
119 Cranberry, 231 Copper Harbor, 65 Old Gold
Now wait an hour for your glue to dry.

6. Once your glue is dry you can pin your leaves to your wreath. You could also use hot glue to attach the leaves to the wreath.

Continue adding leaves around the whole wreath filling in the gaps as needed.

To hang up your wreath you can thread a ribbon or twine or rope through one of the loops made by your wide ribbon.

Now you have a BEAUTIFUL Glitter Leaf Wreath all ready for fall!
I hope you enjoyed my first glitter project with me! I look forward to doing more with you soon!
