So Excited!

I got an e-mail a while ago from a Martha Stewart representative asking if I would be interested in sampling some new Martha craft supplies... ummm YES PLEASE!

Here is what arrive at my door this weekend:

I have a SUPER cool project in mind for these!
Stay tuned!

I am going to have to make some yummy goodies to put in these ADORABLE boxes... Fathers day maybe???

I also purchased a surger off of e-bay a couple of weeks ago!
A Singer Marrittlock 14
It took a little to get it up and running since it is a bit older (like from the 80's) but now it works great! I had to get new needles and sharpen the blade and fix the pressure foot... but I got a GREAT deal so it was all worth it!
Now I can do all sorts of projects and finish them with a professional surged edge!

What are you excited about this week?

With the addition of our daughter, I was pondering getting a Sit and Stand Stroller instead of a Double Stroller.

What are your thoughts and advice on the topic?   Do you have one and love it or hate it?

Some Things that I am loving!

Here are some things that I am LOVING this week!

Have you been watching Project Runway? I just got into it. Don't worry if you don't have cable... you can watch it here on lifetime... It is a SUPER fun season. Dana from Made is writing weekly posts about each episode. And I LOVE her write ups. Such a fun place to talk PR and not have to force my hubby to join in!

I love a good book. I love it when a story just sucks you in! Dear Mary Janes is a blog that reads like a book! Every posts draws you in. each post is a letter written from mother and daughter.

The CSI Project was a little surprise to me... I was not that excited about it at first (Just being honest) But, now that it is up and running.... I LOVE it. I have loved all the themed link ups. It is really a great place to showcase off your work. And find some fun inspiration! If you haven't already checked it you really should! They have some great themes coming up!

What have you been loving lately?

Did you know that Every 30 seconds a child in Africa dies from a malaria infection? A child just like yours or mine. A child that is loved by their mother like WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN!!! This is a really neat raffle. ALL of the fabric was donated and Crystal is an AMAZING crafter and sewer and person! Go and check out her "Nothing But Net" Raffle !

Second, tomorrow is that last day to apply to be a contestant for the Win, Lose or Blog completion! If you have not already hopped over to see Win, Lose or Blog , you are missing out! It is all about living healthily, connecting with others, and having fun!

Third, I am guest posting over at Craft Envy today! I have a fun summer project for you all, so head on over and say "hi"!

Last, I am putting more marker rolls in my shop!

The Iron Crafter...

I have an idea for a crafty contest and wanted to get your feedback!

Have you seen the show Iron Chef America? It is where top chefs go head to head making their best dishes for a panel of judges. The catch is they have to use a Secret Ingredient.

So, I want to do a spin off of that... The Iron Crafter. I would pick a "secret ingredient" (that wouldn't be so secret because I would tell you) and you would have to make a craft with it. You can use anything else that you want but you HAVE to use the secret ingredient some how.

There are 2 ways I could run the contest...

1.) Have a set number of crafters compete. you would email me if your interested and I would select 5-10 crafters to compete. I would show case each of the crafter projects and I would have a voting poll to declare the winner. I am hoping to do several rounds so that everyone who is interested would get a chance.

2.) Have it be open to everyone. I would tell you the Secret Ingredient is and I would set up a linky party for people to link up their Iron Crafter submission. Jeannine and I would pick our top 5 - 10 favorites and then have a voting poll to declare the winner. Our picks would be based on Originality, presentation and use of the secret ingredient.

Let me know what you think. If you have any other ideas about the Iron Crafter contest feel free to share those too!

I am also looking for some sponsors to supply some of the prizes. If you are interesting in becoming an Iron Crafter sponsor email me at [email protected]

Put your Face on!

Hello! It is time to put my face on! Honestly, I was not going to do this but then I went to Beth's Put Your Face On Party and saw all the AMAZING women who linked up and decided that I wanted to be included in that group! So I went upstairs and took off my make-up took a Before picture and put it back on and took an After picture!
So here ya go... my BEFORE pictures:(I don't know what I am looking at in the first and what I am so happy about in the second!)

I love Bare Minerals Make-up... I never wore foundation until I tried this... it is so light and natural, I love it!
After I put on the skin tone I use the Warmth for a little bronzer look!
For my eyes I like the Cover girl Eyelights. They have different colors to match your eye color and it is pretty reasonably priced
I put on the Mineral Vail over my whole face, this helps the makeup stay on longer... it is kinda like a sealer coat.
For my mascara I use the Cover Girl Eyelights Mascara... again they match the color to your eye color to make them really pop!
For my lips I use cover girl 8 hour lip gloss... I like that I don't need to reapply though out the day. You can see that I need to get a new one... but I think that I can scrap a little more off the side...
I put some glittery lip gloss over to give my lips some shine.

I do my hair and I am all done!
Here is what my son looks like when he puts his face on!

Now go one over to Beth's Put Your Face On Party and check all the other amazing women who have linked up! Thanks Beth for being an inspiration to us all! : )
